The library building advisory committee continued to work with the library trustees to prepare for the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) Construction Grant Program application, plan for fundraising should the project be funded by the Commonwealth and the town, and develop a publicity campaign to inform voters about the benefits to the town of accepting the grant if awarded.

In late summer the state announced a new round of grant applications and on November 18 library director Marja LePoer and building committee chair Maureen Davi attended a grant-writing workshop hosted by the MBLC. The grant application was completed through a joint effort by the library director, library trustees and building committee and submitted to the MBLC on January 18, 2001. The state will announce grant awards sometime in June of 2001.

Respectfully submitted,

Maureen Davi

Chair, Building Advisory Committee
