Council on Aging
Report for 1999
The Council on Aging meets at 3:15 on the second Tuesday of each month except July and August.
Members have attended meetings of the Central Eastern Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging and also meetings at Montachusett Home Care Corporation to learn more about helping elders.
Nashoba Nursing Service holds clinics at the Legion Hall on the third Thursday of each month from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Meals for senior citizens are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year at the Elementary School cafeteria for $1.25 a meal, and also we have Meals on Wheels for seniors unable to get to the school. The meals are delivered by volunteers.
Senior Citizens Meetings are on the first and third Thursday each month except in July and August at the Legion Hall at 1:15 PM.
Flowers were planted in the triangle on the Common and in front of the Lyman Building. Also a crafts class was held at the Legion Hall.
We would like to say thank you to the American Legion Post 361 and to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10337 for their generosity in providing the use of their halls for senior activities.
We had four resignations - James Leach, Sharon Stacy, Steven Longley, and Joyce Hopkins.
