Conserving Mt Watatic

FRIDAY April 19th at 7PM Ashby Free Public Library

Please join us at the Ashby Library on April 19th at 7:00PM for the
first time showing of a movie of the celebration of the successful conservation of Mt. Watatic.
If you were there at the celebration on October 17, 2004, it is a
wonderful reminder of what our community did together.  If you weren’t
there, it is an informative and inspirational event that stars many of
our local friends and neighbors.  It is fun and lasts just an hour. 
Light refreshments will be available.

Keep Ashby Beautiful

Saturday April 27th 

Join Keep Ashby Beautiful in the 2024 Great Ashby Clean up! Get your gloves and bags at the Ashby Market or the Library and clean up! If everyone picks up 152 pieces of trash there will be no more trash left. After you pick up your trash, come to the library for some ice cream and the Art Festival.

Ashby Historical Society Open House

Saturday, April 27th from 10 – 1 pm

focusing on the Amos Wheeler Orderly Book
Being the record of the Ashby Company during the Siege of Boston and the Battle of Bunker Hill from May 9, 1775 – June 26, 1775.

The original book will be on display at Ashby Historical Society

The book has just been repaired and cleaned. Funded by your donations and a generous grant from Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area.An enlarged copy will be available for your perusal as well as a display of a Charleville musket from the American Revolution. Feel free to view the rest of our collection in its new layout including the Town Scale, Ashby clocks, and Ashby’s hand pump fire engines

Programs at the Library

Join us every other Tuesday at 5PM as we learn to take better pictures with every device. This is a class for everyone, from the novice to the experienced photographer who wants to take their pictures to the next level.

Cooking Club

Join us on the First Thursday of every month for a cooking club that is fun for young and old. We have made salsa, apple crisp, lasagna, cookies and more. On Thursday, December 7th we will be making dirt pudding. Come and enjoy the messy fun!

Art for All Group

The Art for All group that formed under the leadership of Sue Ellen Siebert is continuing to meet. Vivian Morris along with the rest of the group are continuing to enjoy the companionship and encouragement of the group. New comers are welcome. Thursday Nights at 5:30.

Library Food Pantry

The library has reopened their food pantry. Thanks to the hard work of Brooke Garver the pantry is up and running. The pantry is open whenever the library is open and donations can be dropped off in the library or in the blue bin near the children's room entrance.

Ashby Oral History Project

A team of dedicated local historians are interviewing and collecting the stories of longtime Ashby residents. The first interview premiered October 9th with a celebration for Bob Bedard. The library will collect and index all of these priceless recollections.

Children's Storytime

We are so excited that Jennifer Washington has joined the team as our Children's Librarian. Story time is now at 10:00 on Tuesdays. She will tell stories, sing songs, do movement and end with a craft! Please join us.

All Ages Craft Programs

Starting on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 we will have a morning of fun with art for adults and older children. Devon Berry will lead the group with a different activity each week for 8-weeks. This program will make Art fun. Please Join us.

Book Clubs

Read along with our monthly Cookbook Club, Fiction Book Club and Nonfiction Book Club and then join us to discuss. We have just subscribed to BookMovement to better notify club members of upcoming events. Members can suggest titles and know upcoming book.

We have a Cricut!

If you've ever wanted to try out a Cricut, you can try ours. The Cricut will cut all sorts of materials, from paper to vinyl to fabrics. View the Cricut YouTube channel for ideas!

Games & Puzzle Packs

Do you want new toys and puzzles, but don't want more stuff? Borrow some from us. We have some fun new games and puzzles. You can even take out a puzzle pack to rotate some new wooden puzzles into your little one's collection.
