This chart shows the use, potential use or, in the case of governmemt owned land the ownership. Resid.UDV is residential land which can't be developed due to wetland, steep slopes etc.. Chart is based on 1997 Assessor's data. Government land includes land owned by any government agency. It includes, among others, the State Park land, Fisheries and Wildlife land, Town land such as the school and Allen Field, and City of Fitchburg land. CH 61 is Chapter 61 land. These are privately owned parcels that have applied for and received special property tax status in order to encourage the continuation of agriculture or forestry on the land. Certain penalties apply if the land is developed. Camp/Charity is land held by non-profit organizations.
